Carolyn Braaksma collaborated with community members, engineers, and architects to design the imagery for more than 10,000 precast concrete facing panels on mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls in the interchange project. The project provides enhancements on bridge structures, retaining walls, and sound walls. The imagery includes shoreline birds and flora that are native to the San Francisco Bay area.
