TWO WAYS
University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas, 2006

The project scope involved the design and layout of images for the atrium floor and balustrade panels at the new Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building on the San Antonio campus. The images form a collection of visual information relating to the activity in the building. Two levels of three-dimensional GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) panels overlook the 43’ diameter concrete floor that is replete with embedded stone and metal accents. The gold-leafed Albert Einstein quotation -- “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle”-- alludes to the researcher who finds significance and meaning in the smallest particle – in nothing and in everything.
