As members of a project
team, Carolyn Braaksma and Barb McKee designed the relief
patterns and carved the prototypes for the cast-in-place
concrete walls on the Taft Hill Road pedestrian underpass
in Fort Collins, Colorado. The walls measure 12’
x 65’ and feature indigenous plants and insects,
with a textual key for their identification. Also included
in the project are 5-ft high cast bronze fence posts at
roadway level, that provide a ready visual landmark to
the special underpass below.
