Why Opportunity Works (WOW) Center in the Extension 4-H Youth Building

The WOW Center houses the university extension services and serves as meeting place and display area for 4-H activities. The terrazzo labyrinth floor depicts the guiding principles of 4-H in the inlays. Centerpieces of hand-carved bronze inlays show the head, heart, hand and health/extension that make up 4-H. The text within each bronze medallion reflects the nature of the questions that the University Extension staff answers such as: What is the cost of raising a child? With artist Brad Kaspari, Carolyn Braaksma collaborated closely with building users and 4-H youth to select and portray images important to the groups.
